The more lights go out, the more stars can be seen in the sky. There will be plenty of things to do around Seeing Stars Leiden.

According to Daan Roosegaarde, the artist behind seeing stars, it is no coincidence that this project is now taking place in Leiden after the lights went out in Franeker in Friesland last year. “Jan Oort is a born Franeker”, says Roosegaarde. “After that, he left for Leiden, became director of the Observatory and made world-famous discoveries. That is why it is so great to be able to organize it here on an even larger scale and with a greater focus on science and citizen participation. Wonderful, especially now that Leiden is also the European City of Science this year,” says Roosegaarde. Check out this poster  This poster for additional information about Seeing Stars Leiden!
