On a journey with Key2singing through Venetian madrigals and exciting polychoirs from the Renaissance to the early Baroque.

The Taffeh Temple in the National Museum of Antiquities forms the appropriate backdrop for a special choir project led by Margot Kalse. In the Venezia project, the Key2Singing singers provide a musical insight into the development of the madrigal and polychoir in Venice from the 16th to 17th centuries. During the heyday of the Renaissance, Classical antiquity was in the spotlight. In the Venice of that time, this new development flourished unprecedentedly with the San Marco as its radiant center. The Greek and Roman tradition was an important source of inspiration in architecture, literature and the visual arts. Composers also discovered the rich imagery and breathed new life into the stories of classical gods and heroes by setting their heroic deeds to music and incorporating them into song lyrics.

Key2Singing is a foundation for large and small vocal-musical projects and consists of trained amateur singers, led by Margot Kalse. Every year Key2singing organizes a vocal musical project in which professionals and amateurs collaborate. Opera Projects alternate with choral projects. What is special is that advanced amateurs get the chance to play solo roles. The projects are often staged theatrically by a director; the musical director is in the hands of Margot Kalse.
