They have been a duo since 2022. Commissioned by the Gaudeamus House in Bilthoven, they created a programme in honour of the legendary cellist Pau Casals. A shared affinity for creating beautiful programmes with special stories laid the foundation for their successful collaboration.
As a talented cellist, Jobine Siekman is in great demand as a soloist and chamber musician in the Netherlands and the UK. She has won both solo prizes (National Cello Competition of the Cellobiennale Amsterdam 2016) and in various ensembles such as the Alkyona Quartet, Delphine Trio and the Chloé Trio. In 2016, she received the Anna Shuttleworth prize for her interpretation of Bach in the Cello Competition of the Royal College of Music and was subsequently invited to play the second Bach Suite in the RCM Showcase concert at Wigmore Hall. She was heard live several times on Radio 4 and BBC Radio 3 and appeared on TV on Podium Witteman as ‘Young Hero’.
Ellyne Wieringa came into contact with music at an early age. Captivated by the sounds, harmonies and layers in music, she could only focus her attention on one goal: playing the piano. Guided from an early age by serious teachers, she enjoyed her musical education in Rotterdam, starting at the Hellendaal and later followed by Codarts. It made her experience that communication through music and the coming together of sound and playing elevates to a magical fusion.
