In the early morning of October 3rd, following the Reveille, the Choir Singing begins. The Choir Singing is one of the most cherished traditions of the October 3rd celebrations in Leiden.
Every year, hundreds of Leiden residents, along with the board of the 3 October Association and their guests, come together to sing songs. This event has been organized by the 3 October Association since 1886.
The songs sung during the Choir Singing are included in the Koraalbundel (Chorale Songbook). In 2024, a revised edition was released, featuring both historic Geuzen songs and modern compositions.
