Accessibility & parking

From Leiden Central Station, a public transport bus will get you to the beach in 20 minutes. Or hire a bike, often you only need to pedal a few kilometres to a surprising location!

Leiden

Leiden Central Station is in the heart of the Region. From here, you can walk into the historic city centre in 5 minutes. Public transport buses take you easily and quickly anywhere in the region. More information about public transport can be found at the Q-Buzz service point, at VVV Leiden on Stationsweg 26.

Park your bicycle safely and free of charge in the Lorentz bicycle parking garage near the station, or in the Waag parking facility in the city centre. Katwijk

Katwijk is easily accessible by bus. For up-to-date information or to plan your public transport journey, check the 9292 website. From Leiden, you can also get on your bike; it is only 9 kilometres to Katwijk aan Zee via the “doorfietspad”. On this wide cycle path you cycle safely and quickly towards the coast in one go!

Katwijk also has many car parks and parking garages, even right by the sea! The Zeezijde car park is located under the dunes, from where you can walk straight to the beach or the centre. This unique garage also provides innovative coastal defence.

Oegstgeest

Oegstgeest is right next to Leiden. By bike or bus, you will take about ten minutes either way. Routes and timetables can be found on the Qbuzz or 9292 website. Parking disc zones apply in and around the De Kempenaerstraat shopping area. Blue discs allow you to park here for a maximum of 2 hours.

Wassenaar

Wassenaar is easily accessible by bus or bike. And did you know you can park for free in Wassenaar centre? However, three parking disc zones apply. In the free car parks Luifelbaan and under HEMA shop, parking disc zones also apply, with a maximum parking time of 2 hours.

At the 'Wassenaarse Slag', you can park in car parks De Kuil and Zeelust. From here you can walk straight onto the beach. Even more fun is to come by bike, nice through the dunes.

Driving and parking in Wassenaar

Voorschoten

Voorschoten is located on the railway line between Leiden and The Hague, making it easily accessible by train. Besides public transport by train, there are also buses operated by Qbuzz. There is a blue zone in the centre: free parking with a parking disc.

Warmond

Warmond is easy to reach by bus from Leiden Central, within just 15 minutes you are in the historic village centre. The village is also surrounded by accessible cycle paths from Oegstgeest and Leiden. The bike ride of about 4.5 km takes you through historic parts of Warmond and also a bit of nature.

You can park your car for free in the car park next to VVV Warmond, or for a maximum of 2 hours on the street with a blue disc.
