Discover Leiden's cosy and quaint courtyards with the 'Leidse Hofjes' walk.
Leiden has no fewer than 35 courtyards! Some easier to find than others. An unexpected doorway between two houses can easily hide a beautiful courtyard. Each courtyard (hofje) tells its own unique story. Many of these courtyards are still inhabited and almost all are open to visitors, as long as the privacy of the residents is respected.
