Sensory-friendly day at Naturalis

Naturalis

Sensory-friendly day (10:00 – 17:00) for families with children, including those with ASD or HSP. A safe and calm environment with experienced staff and plenty of opportunities to relax.

A museum visit can be full of sensory stimuli, such as sounds, moving images, smells, or flashing lights. For people who become easily overwhelmed—due to conditions like autism or acquired brain injury—a regular museum visit can quickly become too much. That’s why Naturalis is hosting a sensory-friendly day on September 10, 2025. This special outing features fewer visitors, and the lights and sounds will be adjusted to create a calmer environment.

On September 10, we are also organizing a sensory-friendly evening for adults (16+).

What visitors can expect:

  • Adjusted lighting and sound levels

  • Calm routes and clear, easy-to-follow information

  • Spaces to take a break and relax

  • Inclusive communication and support from experienced staff
