Canal vaulting is the splashiest part of October 3rd! Once again, our Leiden students will show their best (and wettest?) side. Fierljeppen, or canal vaulting, Leiden-style.
We’ll kick off at 3:00 PM, giving everyone plenty of time to enjoy this canal vaulting spectacle after the Grand Parade.
From the edge of the Steenschuur canal, participants will attempt to vault straight into the arms of Mayor Van der Werf!
Spectators can watch the action from both Van der Werf Park and along the Steenschuur.
And if you'd like to give it a try yourself, arrive early and sign up! We love spontaneous daredevils.
Registration opens on the day itself at 2:00 PM in Van der Werf Park.
Spots are limited, so be on time, once it's full, it's full! And of course, you don’t want to miss your chance at the grand prize and eternal glory.
