With the Science route you will discover the past, present and future of science in Leiden, City of Discoveries.
The route consists of two parts: a route through the historic city centre and a tour through the Leiden Bio Science Park, the largest bioscience cluster in the Netherlands. From the establishment of the first university in the Netherlands in 1575 to the European City of Science, Leiden has an international reputation as a centre of knowledge and innovation.
Follow the two-part route through the city centre and the Leiden Bio Science Park to learn more about the groundbreaking research and leading discoveries that have taken place in Leiden over the course of 450 years.
