Clay+ showcases the versatility of visual art with clay in all its forms. That is why we asked ARS artists who work with clay to present their work.
Artworks in which clay is combined with other materials were also very welcome. It is precisely these surprising cross-pollinations that form the inspiration behind the title Clay+.
In addition to the exhibition, we are working on a varied program of demonstrations and workshops for a broad audience. In this way, we want to introduce the residents of Leiden and the region to the almost limitless possibilities of clay: from traditional techniques to contemporary applications. Visitors will not only have the chance to look, but also to get to work themselves and experience the power of the material.
Currently, a children's workshop and an inspiring Raku day are already on the program, with possibly even more activities in the pipeline. Participating artists are: Miek de Knegt, Frank Willem Jansen, Marjan Waanders, Stan van Belkum, Hanan Saif, Mirese Mudde, Annelies Brakkee, Hetty Arens, Rachel Bellwinkel, Barbera Sterk, Fleur van den Berg.
