We commemorate our freedom, regained through Leiden’s Relief. Each year features a special guest speaker and music.

This year, the service will be led by Rev. Jan Groenleer. Until his retirement in 2014, he was affiliated with the Opstandingskerk in Leiden.

Organist Jan Verschuren and the Royal Military Band ‘Johan Willem Friso’, conducted by Major Frans-Aert Burghgraef, will provide the musical accompaniment. A special first from the choral world: the Leiden Choir School, conducted by Tim Tomassen, will be the first children's choir ever to sing during the Memorial Service.

No registration is required.
Doors open at 9:30 AM. The 3 October Association advises arriving early, as seating is limited and full = full.

A Dutch Sign Language (NGT) interpreter will be present for deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees. Seats will be reserved for them from 9:30 to 9:45 AM.
We invite you to report to the 3 October Association ushers at the entrance of the Pieterskerk. They will assign you a seat.
