Green shrubs and plants in the Leiden Almshouse

Founded by the wealthy Eva van Hoogeveen in 1650. The regents' chamber of the court is located on the Doelengracht.

The Latin text above the gate states that she was a chaste virgin. The lamb from her family coat of arms is depicted on the pump in the courtyard. The elderly women who lived here were required to wash themselves at least once a month. The regents' room of the courtyard is located on the Doelengracht.
