Blauwe Molen
Contact
The 'Blauwe Molen' has stood on the 'Blauwe polder' since 1900, but that hasn’t always been the case. The windmill dates back to 1772 and most likely originally stood in Hillegersberg.
In the Blauwe polder stood a worn-out blue swing mill that was demolished, and this mill was built in its place. The blue color of this swing mill gave the name “Blauwe polder” to the previously named “Oudaase polder.”
The current Blue Mill was restored, painted blue, and also given the name “Blue Molen.”
Visits are by appointment only or when the mill is in operation. The living quarters are private.
