The Young Rembrandt Studio, the 17th-century house on Langebrug 89 in Leiden, is where Rembrandt learned to paint, draw and etch from his master Jacob van Swanenburg in his early years (1606 – 1630).

Visit this unique stop on the Leidse Rembrandt route and take a peek inside the life of the young Rembrandt. During a beautiful 7 minute ‘video mapping’ you will get to know/get acquainted with the young Rembrandt and the most important/key figures in his life. What was the unique talent Rembrandt had? What materials did he use, and how? Look back at the first 25 years of the life of the most famous master painter from the Golden Age: Rembrandt.

Rembrandt Walk
The Young Rembrandt Studio is a great addition to the Rembrandt walking tour called ‘In the footsteps of the young Rembrandt’. On this tour, all authentic Rembrandt locations in the central city of Leiden are connected together, such as his birthplace and the Latin School that Rembrandt attended. The themed information panels along the route grant an impression of Leiden of Rembrandt’s time. The tour can be booked at the Young Rembrandt Studio and VVV Leiden for € 2.95.

This is also an extra information point in the city center!
