Buurtermolen

The 'Buurtermolen' was built around the 18th century, though the exact year of construction is unknown. The mill was built to drain the 'Buurter polder'. What is striking is that the mill has a large capacity for such a small polder.
The mill serves as a backup for the Buurterpolder in the event of severe flooding or if the pumping station fails. Today, the mill is primarily of great scenic value. It occupies a beautiful spot in the Buurterpolder and can only be reached by an unmanned private boat.
