Rode Molen
The 'Rode molen' drained the 'Roomolenpolder' using wind power until 1956. After that, the mill fell into disrepair because the polder board switched to a screw pump powered by a diesel engine.
The mill was restored in 1969 and has been operational again since 1972. With the construction of an electric pumping station in 1988, the mill took on a new role as an auxiliary facility for water management.
What makes this mill unique is that it is the only swing mill with a thatched roof.
Visits are possible when the mill is in operation and by appointment.
