Hoogmadese molen
Contact
The 'Hoogmadese molen' is also known as “De Heerlijkheid.” This name likely refers to the manor of Hoogmade, whose territory largely coincided with that of the polder.
The Hoogmadese Polder has been drained since 1492.
The current mill is relatively new: it was built in 1897. Unfortunately, little is known about the mill’s predecessor. In 1968, the mill was equipped with an electric motor as an auxiliary drive, but due to technical issues, it is no longer in use today. A new pumping station has since been built next to the mill.
Visits are only possible by appointment or when the mill is in operation.
