Vrouw Vennemolen

The 'Vrouw Vennemolen' has been on the map—literally—since 1618. It appears on a map of Vrouwe Ven from that year and is still considered one of the most beautiful swing windmills in Rhineland.
The windmill drains the Oud Ade polder and can still be used as a pumping station.
But the mill has more to tell than just its function. During the German occupation in World War II, residents of Oud Ade gathered here to secretly listen to Radio Oranje. The banned broadcast was made possible by the turning sails of the mill, which generated electricity for the radio.
A special place with a rich history, nestled in the heart of the polder landscape of the Region.
Visits are by appointment only or when the mill is in operation.
