Ig Nobel Awards founder Marc Abrahams is coming to Leiden to talk about this special science prize.

Some scientific studies make people laugh, and then think. The most surprising and remarkable studies win an Ig Nobel Award. Founder of this prize, Marc Abrahams, brings along his own favorite examples, such as 'Self-colonoscopy in a seated position', 'Wasabi in the air as a fire alarm', and 'Swallowing swords and their side effects'.

Five scientists who have won the prize in the past will give lectures on their remarkable research. Think, for example, of Mirjam Tuk, who won the Ig Nobel Award for her research into decision-making with a full and empty bladder. Or how about Ida Sabelis, who researched sex in an MRI scanner?

The language of the event is English.
