'Galleria' is een zomerse museumbelevenis, waarin twaalf kleine tentoonstellingen samenwonen onder één dak. Van Egyptische tempelfragmenten en Marokkaanse sieraden tot eigentijdse kunst en persoonlijke verhalen.
Each exhibition has its own atmosphere, perspective, story, and connection to antiquity. Together, they form a surprising journey where past and present meet.
From the labyrinth of Amenemhat III to rare books:
Visitors wander past a multifaceted collection of objects and stories. There are, for instance, Egyptian temple fragments from the labyrinth of Amenemhat III, reconstructions of medieval priestly vestments from Nubia, beautiful Moroccan fibulae, and statues with refined antique hairstyles. You will also discover the drawings by Bob Brobbel (which gave Dutch archaeology a face), rare books from the museum library, a special collection of clocks, and contemporary art projects – including *Odysseus and the Drowned and Saved* by Elisa Pesapane.

Although each exhibition has its own perspective and atmosphere, the whole forms a fascinating gallery of stories. 'Galleria' connects present and past, science and art, material heritage and personal memories. You not only see magnificent, centuries-old objects, but also experience how ancient symbols and ideas continue to inspire. In the exhibition Anch, for example, the Egyptian hieroglyphic sign for 'life' proves to be surprisingly relevant.
